Our operation started out with a lot of energy and very little equity. We have been fortunate to have had the opportunities to develop our herd and build our ranch. The true blessings that we received were our three children Rindy, Tad, and Kinsey. The kids were an instrumental part of our operation and the evolution of what we have today. They were a big part of our work force for years. Bet Kettle once told us that "If you start em riding at three, they will be "hands" by four years old" She was right. These kids logged lots of miles horseback on the ranches we worked on, and then on our own place. They were involved in all aspects of our ranching and feeding operation, running equipment in the field, cattle work, irrigation, feeding cattle, calving, A-I work, building new feedlot pens, putting up bins and scales, and fixing whatever happened to be broke-down at the time.
All Three were very active in 4-H and the Junior Hereford association. They all developed small herds of their own and showed at County, State, and National Events.
They were also very active int he school system. Over the years from Jr. High through High School we enjoyed watching them participate in basketball, volleyball, football, wrestling, track and rodeo. Watching band and choir concerts, school plays and speech contests. It helped round out our enjoyment of there school experiences.
After the troops graduated from college, they each started their own careers and later their own families.

Tad - Graduated from the University of Wyoming, then Vet School at Kansas State University. He moved to Lexington, Kentucky to work for 7 years before moving to Sheridan Wy where he started Black Tooth Large Animal Practice.
He is married to Hillary, who keeps the books at their vet practice. They have two children Myla, and Tyne.

She is marred to Jake Freese who works for High Country Construction. They live near Pavilion Wy with their three girls Karlee, Jenna, and Cora.
We have been so fortunate to have had Family, Friends, Employers, and Employees that have helped us along the way. There is an endless list of people that we learned the true cattle business from, both directly and indirectly.
Tipton Ranch is very diversified both out of love and necessity:
1. We produce Hereford Genetics for cattle people
2. Cattle Feeding operation (permitted 4,000 hd.)
3. Yearling Operation
4. Heifer development program & custom A.I.
5. Colored commercial herd to produce Baldies
6. Pivot irrigate 453 acres to produce feed and grazing
7. Custom manure hauling & spreading
Each one of these entities has added to our knowledge of the cattle business and helped us provide a better product for the cattle industry. The terms "COST EFFECTIVE" and "PROFIT ORIENTED" have had a true impact on our operation as this is the sole source of income for us.
We try hard to be well above average and profitable!
